Enabling SSL for your email in Windows 10 mail

How do I enable SSL in Windows mail 10 ?

Step 1

Open Windows 10 Mail on your computer.

Step 2

Right click the mailbox you want enable SSL on and select Account Settings.

The account settings window will now appear, click Change mailbox sync settings.

Scroll to the bottom of the Sync Settings window and click Advanced Mailbox settings.

If you have a Standard mailbox you will need to use the SMTP settings supplied by your internet provider.
  • Incoming email server: Set this to mail.livemail.co.uk:993
  • Outgoing (SMTP) email server: Set this to smtp.livemail.co.uk:465 
  • Require SSL for incoming email: Tick this box.
  • Require SSL for outgoing email: Tick this box.

If you are using POP instead of IMAP set Incoming email server to mail.livemail.co.uk:995

Step 5

Click Done, then Save. Your mailbox is now set up using SSL in Windows 10 Mail.
